Ronan Sadler is an Editor, Writer, and Consultant

We tell stories to allow parts of ourselves to be seen. Maybe, if we’re lucky, we know what all of those parts are and feel comfortable with them, but usually we don’t. I’m a writer too, I get it. Writing is a process of revealing and concealing emotion, of highlighting and hiding meaning. My skill as an editor is in being able to listen for what is buried in the text and gently raise it to awareness so that you can make craft choices to better support it.

I know a ton about writing craft and the publishing industry; I’ve worked in publishing for almost ten years, first at Harlequin and then at Wattpad. If you work with me, we’ll talk about things like character motivations and pacing (always pacing!), but we’ll also talk about your vision for your work, what motivates you, and how you can refine your work to be the best expression of that vision.

My approach is strengths-based and choice-centred. This means I help you use what you’re strong in as a way to support your growth areas, and that I foreground “writing craft” as a series of choices you can make rather than a set of rules you have to follow.
